YOR323C

  • Deposition Date: 2004/08/16
  • Description: Gamma-glutamyl phosphate reductase (GPR) (EC 1.2.1.41) (Glutamate-5- semialdehyde dehydrogenase) (Glutamyl-gamma-semialdehyde dehydrogenase) (GSA dehydrogenase).
  • Solution Method: X-RAY
  • Start: 1 End: 457 Sequence Type: Complete
  • Fold Function: Gamma-glutamyl phosphate reductase (GPR)
  • Fold Summary: Class: alpha/beta ALDH-like fold.Consists of two similar domains with 3 layers (a/b/a) each; duplication. Core: parallel beta-sheet of 5 strands, order 32145.
  • Fold Description: Gamma-glutamyl phosphate reductase, a yeast homolog of the previously solved TM0293. Weak, but statistically significant, sequence similarity to the alcohol dehydrogenase family; however, YOR323c structure has an unusual open conformation, resulting in over 10 angstrom rmsd over the entire structure, despite over 30% sequence id. Together with TM0293. YOR323c defines a possible range of movements between the catalytic and substrate binding domain.
